DR. RAPHAEL CENDRILLON
Raphael Cendrillon was born in Melbourne, Australia, in 1978. He received an Electrical Engineering degree (Honours First Class) from the University of Queensland, Australia in 1999, and a Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering (Summa Cum Laude with Congratulations of the Board of Examiners) at the Katholieke Universiteit Leuven, Belgium in 2004. His research focuses on the application of multi-user communication theory to xDSL.
In 2002 he was a visiting scholar at Stanford University with Prof. John Cioffi. In 2005 Dr. Cendrillon was a post-doctoral research fellow at the University of Queensland, Australia. During this period he was also a visiting research fellow at Princeton University with Prof. Mung Chiang. From 2006 to 2007 he was a Senior DSP Engineer with Marvell Hong Kong Ltd. From 2007 to 2010 he was an Expert Consulant with Huawei Technologies. In the past he also worked with Telstra Australia and Vodaphone New Zealand.
Dr. Cendrillon has been awarded 12 patents and has published over 30 papers in internationally recognized journals and conferences. He contributed to the development of the American National Standard on VDSL, and his algorithms form part of the pre-published ATIS standard on Dynamic Spectrum Management, and the ITU Standard on Level 3 Dynamic Spectrum Management G.Vector. Dr. Cendrillon was awarded the University of Queensland Early Career Researcher Grant in 2005, the UniQuest Trailblazer Prize for Commercialization in 2005, the K.U. Leuven Bursary for Advanced Foreign Scholars in 2004, the Alcatel Scientific Prize in 2004, and IEEE Grants in 2003, 2004 and 2005.
